This manuscript presents the PRECORA v1.0 dataset and the conceptual "Coral Economy" framework, synthesizing biological, environmental, and economic knowledge to evaluate the aquaculture potential of precious and semiprecious octocorals—particularly genus Melithaea—as a pathway toward sustainable coastal development, reduced wild harvesting, and expanded marine and biomedical research.
